Icelandic as a second language is a new and effective way to learn Icelandic. The program is a part of the University Gateway of the University of Bifröst but is now also available as a standalone program for foreigners in Icelandic.
As a standalone the goal of the program is to enable students to do work that requires very good Icelandic language skills. Classes are online and designed as part-time so students can study alongside full-time work.
One of the main advantages is that the program is based on the European Language Framework. This means students are evaluated into the program with respect to their Icelandic language skills. The better their skills are, the sooner they graduate. Full study takes up to two years.

Islandzki jako drugi język
Islandzki jako drugi język to nowy i skuteczny sposób nauki islandzkiego. Program jest częścią University Gateway Uniwersytetu Bifröst, ale jest teraz dostępny również jako samodzielny program dla obcokrajowców w języku islandzkim.
Jako samodzielny program, celem programu jest umożliwienie studentom wykonywania pracy, która wymaga bardzo dobrej znajomości języka islandzkiego. Zajęcia są online i zaprojektowane w niepełnym wymiarze godzin, dzięki czemu uczniowie mogą uczyć się równolegle z pracą w pełnym wymiarze godzin.
Jedną z głównych zalet jest to, że program oparty jest na Europejskich Ramach Językowych. Oznacza to, że uczniowie są oceniani w programie pod kątem ich znajomości języka islandzkiego. Im lepsze są ich umiejętności, tym szybciej kończą studia. Pełne badanie trwa do dwóch lat.

Námið er í reynd hluti af háskólagátt Háskólans á Bifröst og er ætlað útlendu fólki sem vill taka fullan þátt í íslensku málsamfélagi.
Námið miðast við að þau sem útskrifast geti lagt stund á nám við íslenska skóla, en hentar ekki síður þeim sem vilja komast í þau störf sem krefjast mjög góðrar íslenskukunnáttu.
Einn helsti kostur námsins er janframt sá að það byggir á evrópska tungumálastaðlinum. Í því felst að hver og einn nemandi er metinn inn í námið með tilliti til íslenskukunnáttu viðkomandi. Því meiri sem sú kunnátta er því styttri tíma tekur námið.
Íslenska sem annað nám er kennd í fjarnámi og hentar fullkomlega meðfram vinnu. Fullt nám er til allt að tveggja ára.
