A special agreement signed

Before the weekend, the representatives of Framsyn and the Confederation of Icelandic Employers (SA) signed a special wage agreement for workers working on passenger boats in tourism industry in Húsavík. This agreement is an extension of the current contract for bird and whale watching workers.  

The agreement, which takes into account the increases in the wage rates according to the collective agreement of the Federation of General and Special Workers in Iceland (SGS) and the Confederation of Icelandic Employers (SA) and is retroactive and valid from November 1, 2022, to January 31, 2024. 

Fixed wages will increase by up to ISK. 52,000 per month excluding shift premium. The agreement means that the salary part of the contract will increase, but other points from Framsyn’s demands will be taken up for discussion no later than in October.
